A Place in the Sun presenter Laura Hamilton has opened up about how she maintains her fitness and wellbeing while managing a demanding career and busy family life. The 43-year-old television star, who has been a familiar face on the Channel 4 property show since 2012, recently shared insight into her exercise routine, healthy eating habits and how she balances it all alongside her responsibilities as a mum.
Laura is mother to two children, Rocco and Tahlia, whom she shares with her former husband Alex Goward. She explained that staying healthy is not about extremes, but about consistency, smart choices and being mindful of both nutrition and budget. Despite her hectic schedule, Laura says she makes a conscious effort to prioritise her wellbeing, especially when it comes to food.
Speaking to Closer magazine, Laura revealed that she carefully plans her weekly food shop to ensure she and her children eat well without overspending. She described herself as an “Aldi convert” and said she aims to budget around £375 a week for the three of them — a figure she believes is realistic and achievable when shopping wisely.
Laura explained that her shopping trolley is typically filled with lean protein sources such as salmon, chicken and turkey, alongside plenty of fresh fruit including berries and watermelon. She also includes items like yoghurt, houmous and protein bars, all of which help her maintain a balanced and nutritious diet. When it comes to breakfast, Laura says she usually starts her day with a protein shake blended with oats and matcha to keep her energy levels up.
This isn’t the first time the presenter has spoken candidly about her health. In 2025, Laura experienced a health scare after suffering an allergic reaction, which she later discussed with her followers on social media. Posting a video update, she thanked fans for their concern and support, explaining that she believed the reaction had been caused by a cleaning product. Laura said she had been taking antihistamines and planned to visit her doctor to fully understand the cause and treatment.
Beyond her focus on fitness and wellbeing, Laura has also been keeping busy with property ventures away from television. The presenter previously revealed that she had purchased a home in Majorca, which she planned to renovate — a project she described as a passion of hers. Sharing the news on Instagram, Laura explained that while the renovation process had taken longer than expected due to licensing and permit delays, the project remains ongoing and close to her heart.
As she continues to juggle television work, family life and property projects, Laura Hamilton remains committed to maintaining a healthy, balanced lifestyle — proving that wellbeing doesn’t have to come at the expense of real life pressures.
